This is how it looks like when you're being eaten by a lion...

Yep... this time, you get to see how you get to be eaten by a lion... up close and very, very ..uhm... close...

The video was accidentally taken when the gopro camera setup by 2 wildlife photographers got "attacked" by a lioness....  fortunately, the camera survived the attack and lived to spread the video... :)

mumbling my roar to the world...

The wait is almost over... True Blood is back!!!

Finally!!!  I've been waiting for this series to start for a while now and I was beginning to think that it has been shelved by HBO permanently!

Hell Yeah!!! Sookie's back! And this time,  the True Blood series has a new spell under it's sleeve...
See the teaser below:

They've brought us vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, fairies... this time around, it's witches!!!

Yeah baby!! It's witches versus vampires on season 4... the witches are in town and they are creating chaos on every corner...  plus, a necromancer will make trouble and since necromancers controls the dead... and with vampires being dead and all... means that the necromancer will give trouble to our beloved vampires...

Oh yeah! True Blood Season 4 premiere will be on June 26, 2011... be there!

The Dangers of liking in Facebook

Ahhh... Facebook... the ultimate social networking site... you felled myspace... made a dog of tagged... made friendster close down (I think it will be at the end of this month)...  you have captured the hearts and faces of almost every human being on the planet (and made a gazillion dollars doing so) while still in your infancy...

We all know and love Facebook... how many times have you liked a comment? a Page? a friend?

I bet at least a hundred times!  I myself am guilty of pressing the like button in lieu of replying back or commenting.  It's fast, direct and easy-peasy!  But just to let you know, as everything there is in life, there are dangers... and the like button in Facebook is no different... You may end up being misconstrued and misunderstood...

Just don't say I didn't warn you... see picture below... click to enlarge... you'll read it better...

The ultmate battle: Man Vs. Machine

I found this on Youtube and decided that I would post this for others to see...

It tells the story of the ultimate battle between man and machine where the outcome decides the fate of the whole human race!

... or it's the most useless machine ever made... you decide!

Update: After watching it a few more times (Yes... I do watch some videos multiple times...)
I feel that there's some philosophical side to this video... I mean, does the box symbolize the futility of life or the inevitability of fate?  If man perseveres, would he be able to break the shackles of destiny???

Man, Iv'e been watching this video waaaaay too many times...  I gotta quit  while I'm still sane.... but maybe just one more...

Mumbling for the machine to win.... 'Till next!

Amazing Animatronics

Animatronics is amazing!!!  Animatronics is the simulation of life through the use of electronics, programming and robotics!  How cool is that!?!?

It's right up there with other cool effects like stop motion animation and CGI!  Of course CGI may be the king right now in Hollywood, in terms of effects, but animatronics has one distinct advantage over the two: it is physically real... not just a simulation that you view on a screen.  It's like a puppet without the strings!  Plus, it is used not only on movies but also in theme parks!

The technology behind animatronics has become more advanced and sophisticated over the years, making the puppets even more realistic and lifelike.

One of the premiere experts on animatronics is John Nolan and I would have you watch his film reel for his animatronic works!  Beware though, some of his creations are so totally lifelike it might creep you out.... you wuss...

The Incredible transforming house!

I found this incredible transforming house on Youtube and it was awesome!!!  The owner and his friends actually call it a Lego type house but I call it a transforming house since it changes itself from an unassuming small apartment to an awesome and cool place albeit small (what??? I never said it would defy the laws of space and time!).

Check out the video below so you can see for yourself what I'm talking about! Prepare to be amazed!

Looks like he was inspired by the architecture of boats and how it maximizes space and function!  Dang! I want me one of these although bigger would be better.

I just gotta get this out of my system... my MMDA rantings...

Hoookay... so I had to renew my license a few days ago and I was in the process of doing so at the LTO when I hit  a bit of a snag.... It seems I had an MMDA alarm flag attached to my license.. which the officer at the LTO told me that I have to clear up with the MMDA before I can renew my license... What the hell?? The violation I was flagged for was 2 years old and I distinctly remember having paid it through their Metrobank account.

Looking at the violation date, I was flagged down for a violation I didn't commit (but that's another rant...) and since we were going to the wake of a relative so I was in a bit of a hurry.  I accepted the violation and told them that I would pay the fine at their accredited banks.  And since it was a saturday, I would be delayed in paying but the MMDA office assured me that I have five working days to pay the fine. So that was that and I went on my way.  But due to unfortunate circumstances, I wasn't able to pay the fine until 4 days later (which was still within the 5 day window).

Fast forward to today... here I was flagged for a violation that was 2 years old and was already paid for. Damn the MMDA process.... why the hell do I have to go and get a clearance for a violation fine that was already paid for 2 years ago???  In fact, when I got there, I even calmly asked why it was still on my record, and they told me that it was because I didn't pay the fine on time. WHAAATTTT????  They told me that it was five calendar days and not five working days??? WHAAAT!??  I now find out that the window is 7 calendar days which makes my payment on time! So there!!!!

To add insult to injury, It took me 5 HOURS JUST TO GET THE FRICKIN CLEARANCE!!!!  I shouldn't even be asking for a clearance for doing my civil duties!! I mean if I was expected to do my civil duties, I expect them to do theirs!!! Geez...

So now I am making it official... I hate the MMDA until they improve their services or at least streamline their process for the better...

If you had any horrid experiences with the MMDA, feel free to hit the comments!

Mumbling something french while remembering this and when I say french I mean something not suitable for GP eyes...

Thor... the god of thunder rumbles on Earth

I am a self confessed, non-practicing comic book fan.  I like all things that was rooted out from comics.  My all time superhero favorite is the Batman followed closely by Grifter.  SO when comic superheroes gets a movie franchise, I am so there to support it.

There have been an uprising in comic book movies of late, maybe because hollywood writers are having difficulty in creating new stuff but I think the general idea is to get the fanbase of comic heroes to at least get a decent revenue.

And this summer, playing right now at the nearest movie house near you is THOR!

Marvel comics brings us Thor as a pre-cursor to the Avengers movie slated summer next year! The movie is based on the Thor comic book and it does not disappoint... at least entertainment wise... there's a bit lacking here and there plot wise and character wise but the actors in it are so good that they made it work!  The main actor that plays Thor (Chris Hemsworth) did a great job portraying goldilocks (yeah! That's what we call him... me and the hulk).  The sibling rivalry played out well and I really thought that the guy playing Loki (Tom Hiddleston) looked a lot like Data from Star Trek (Next Gen).

Personally, I am "bitin" with the fight scenes, I mean the fight with the destroyer could have gone on a few minutes more but overall, this is an entertaining movie!  Fanboys out there wont be disappointed (too much) because the movie did not veer too far from Marvel's Thor mythos.  This is a good movie for the family and for the kids!  If you have time, you have got to watch, because as I've said at the beginning of the post, this is part of the pre-cursor for the Avengers movie... and that one will definitely kick ass!
