I am a self confessed, non-practicing comic book fan. I like all things that was rooted out from comics. My all time superhero favorite is the Batman followed closely by Grifter. SO when comic superheroes gets a movie franchise, I am so there to support it.
There have been an uprising in comic book movies of late, maybe because hollywood writers are having difficulty in creating new stuff but I think the general idea is to get the fanbase of comic heroes to at least get a decent revenue.
And this summer, playing right now at the nearest movie house near you is THOR!
Marvel comics brings us Thor as a pre-cursor to the Avengers movie slated summer next year! The movie is based on the Thor comic book and it does not disappoint... at least entertainment wise... there's a bit lacking here and there plot wise and character wise but the actors in it are so good that they made it work! The main actor that plays Thor (Chris Hemsworth) did a great job portraying goldilocks (yeah! That's what we call him... me and the hulk). The sibling rivalry played out well and I really thought that the guy playing Loki (Tom Hiddleston) looked a lot like Data from Star Trek (Next Gen).
Personally, I am "bitin" with the fight scenes, I mean the fight with the destroyer could have gone on a few minutes more but overall, this is an entertaining movie! Fanboys out there wont be disappointed (too much) because the movie did not veer too far from Marvel's Thor mythos. This is a good movie for the family and for the kids! If you have time, you have got to watch, because as I've said at the beginning of the post, this is part of the pre-cursor for the Avengers movie... and that one will definitely kick ass!
Mumbling away while avoiding the hammer mjolnir... 'Till next my friends!
