Darna Lives!!!

Hey! Lest I forget, this little site blog was pointed out to me by my friend over at Comicology a few weeks ago -- darnalives.blogspot.com.

Darna is of course, the filipino heroine created by Mars Ravelo.

Darna Lives! is written by Gerry Alanguilan. Illustrations and Colors by Arnold Arre pages 2-8. Letters and Artwork for page 1 is by Gerry Alanguilan. It will run for only nine pages and it will end there. Darna Lives is inspired by Alan Moore's "Marvelman".

Apparently, Mr. Alanguilan hopes to do a Darna lives series and by use of the blog, is hoping to get Mr. Ravelo's blessing.

This short comic based on the heroine is a new take on the Darna series.  In this story, Darna is way past her prime and is living a normal human life.  She has long since given up being Darna and has vague memories of her adventures if not forgotten completely.  The ingenuous way Mr. Alanguilan has her transform back to Darna is one of the best I've seen any local comic writer do!  Head over to the blog site now to see what I mean!

And if any of you out there has contact with the Ravelo family, make them see the blog site... it's awesome!  We just might see a re-emergence of Darna.

'Till my next mumble!
